REMEMBERING ACE

MEMORIES

Ace

“I got to meet Ace a couple of times when I worked at Chilis. He always got Salmon double broccoli and chips and salsa. He was always so nice and we were so excited to see him. He always talked about going there on the show and we loved hearing it. He brought so many laughs over the years and seemed like such a great man. So heartbreaking that he is no longer with us but I know he is happy to be reunited with his daughter.”

“We first met Ace the year we married, 2000, at the Second Chance prom. Work took us away from the area but it brought us back this past July (2024) for a Gala event and we were surprised to see Ace as the MC. We had a chance to laugh about how long it had been and we got a chance to get pic with him before we left not knowing it would be the last time we would see him. Heartbroken.” – Kevin & Colette

“Ace’s big personality came through the radio and helped bring many laughs to start out the day. This show has been a staple in my life since I was a kid. My mom and I would listen every morning while getting ready for school and work. As I got older I never missed a morning. I’ll never forget the first time I heard Ace read a comment I left on a FB question yall had posted and I just was in Awe that my comment was read aloud by him on air! Meeting you guys at second chance prom many years ago was a dream come true. Ace had a larger than life personality that will truly be missed. He was genuine and he really tried to share so many parts of his life to help others get through their hard times. That’s the most humble thing someone can do for others. I hope and pray the good he brought to this earth is never forgotten. My prayers are with each and every one of you: friends, family, radio family. Thank you for sharing your life with us Ace. Much love to ya my guy.” – KD
“What an inspiring person. Ace lived a life truly giving of himself. From being in a band for charity, to Grin Kids, having “The Meaningful Meeting” podcast where he just wanted you to know you would be OK, doing the emotional bike ride for Payton to raise money for charity – you could tell his heart was in the right place to try and do good in the world. He could be hard on himself for any faults he had, but we are all human and have faults. I will remember him as a funny & compassionate person who cared about people, really wanted to do the right thing, loved his kids more than anything, and so full of emotion that he could cry at the drop of a hat. One of my favorite memories is of him not being able to read the LSU poem – he couldn’t even get the first word out without crying. I am just someone who listened to him everyday on the radio, I can’t imagine the loss felt by his friends and family. Praying for you all.” – Amy
“I have been listening since you guys got to Charlotte. I laugh when I think of how each girl on the show, beginning with Teri, always gave Ace a hard time about any and everything. And you could tell they were like brother and sister. I laugh when I think of Ace telling the story of him almost burning the house down at Thanksgiving. I laugh when I think of how he used to put his foot in his mouth a lot. Like the time the girl who lost her parents on 9/11 got to go Madison Square Garden for a Knicks game, and asked if her parents dropped her off. (Hahaha – Cringe). But man it tears me up to think of how passionate he was in helping people and doing for others. I am heartbroken when I think about Cade. TJ maybe you and Riggins take him to baseball parks from now on each year. I think in tribute to Ace, I may hang a wall napkin in his honor in my office. (remember that? haha)” – Jody C

“I loved Ace’s unwavering confidence that he could land an airplane in an emergency situation with radio help from the tower. It came up a few times on the show and, despite pushback from every show member, he always said he could do it. I always loved when that type of swagger came out.”
“Wow where do I begin, I would probably have to say, I have to be one of the 11 listeners. I would listen to you guys on the way to work. I will never forget the Friday Morning Weekend Blast off. I remember going to see PM Dawn at a club in Charlotte and both of you were there and so friendly. I can remember seeing you at Concord Mills when it opened up I believe y’all were with your families but never would you turn people away to just say hey. I’ll never forget the Misfit Trips he took or the Breaking and entering Christmas’s. When I moved to Myrtle Beach and y’all came on the radio I was so excited. I will forever be greatful for all the memories that your morning Radio show gave me growing up! Words I don’t think words can express the sadness that this radio family is facing right now. My heart breaks for his kids and family. Keep all of you in thoughts and prayers.”
“I have listened to Ace and TJ for years. The thing I will remember most about Ace is the way he made you feel the story he was telling. He made me laugh out loud, get upset or angry or cry….. sob even. He was a wonderful story teller and made you feel as though you were standing right beside him. I get all emotional even typing this out. I hope he is at peace and with his beautiful daughter. I will miss his legend. ❤️ All of my thoughts and prayers for comfort, strength, hope, forgiveness and in the future when it’s not so fresh Joy and happiness. Thinking of his family and radio family. 💕”
“I have listened to Ace & TJ since I was a kid so as an adult when I got to meet them in person, it was like meeting celebrities! My husband and I attended almost all of the Shared Funny lives and had a blast at each one! We saw Charity Case perform in Hickory last year and Ace was a rockstar!! It was one of the best concerts! We also went to the Train concert in Charlotte which Ace hosted. He was so much fun and down to earth, tailgating with all of us. Ace will truly be missed! He was a great Dad and great man!” – Amber
“My favorite moment meeting Ace was in Gastonia, Charity Case was playing an all age show near Halloween. It poured down with rain. They kept playing for the fans. It was the first time my daughter saw them and got to meet everyone.” – Christina
“In 2019, we had the pleasure of having breakfast with Ace and Santa at Cantina 1511. Our kids couldn’t understand why we were so excited to meet Ace and less excited about Santa!” – Lara
“It really touched my heart the first time I listened to Ace’s podcast The Meaningful Meeting and he was talking about dealing with the loss of Peyton. My heart broke for him and it had me in tears. He has always been kind and friendly when I’ve attended the live shows and his bands concert. I love the whole show, I call them my friends! When this tragedy occurred, I had so many friends contact me to say how sorry they were because of how I talk about TJ, Jodi, Ace, Riggins, and Rob, and consider them friends. My heart is breaking for them all!!💔💔💔” – K

“Hey everyone. My name is Bobby. I’m 30 years old and live in Columbia, SC. I’ve been in the Columbia area my whole life and I’ve been listening to the show since I started driving myself and sister to high school back in 2009. I still listen daily. I tell stories from the show at our dinner table to which my wife thinks y’all are my friends!

In September of 2023 I was struggling with a lot. My faith, my relationship with my wife, you name it I was struggling. I was listening to the meaningful meeting on my way to Charleston for work. Ace was talking about the tradition of him and his son going to all the MLB stadiums. It got me thinking of my own father. My dad and I had a tradition where we would see all the new Star Wars movies in opening night. It began in 1999 when I was 5 years when Episode 1 came out. It was my absolute favorite thing that my dad and I did. I message Ace on instagram telling him that his episode that night seemed like it was made for me. I wasn’t expecting a reply but this is what he sent back:

“Thank you for this wonderful message. I love that you do that with your Dad. No you are not alone and remember you can’t change the past but you can be better in the future. God bless”

Ace told me “you are not alone.” Little did I know that my father would pass away 1 year later from cancer. I never met Ace but he made me feel like me and him were walking a journey together. I will be forever grateful for that. God bless” – Bobby

“We will always remember Ace from our Grin Kids experience. We were so blessed to have an opportunity to share our son’s story with Ace on this trip. We will forever be thankful for his charity work he did to provide others like our son Tanner an experience of a lifetime.”
“My heart hurts. Ace, you will be go greatly missed. I’m a former Grin Kid mom from 2003. You and TJ gave my son a wonderful week at Disney. When Richard passed away you both came to his funeral. You literally found out on a Monday morning that he passed over the weekend and his funeral was that Monday. You did the show and drove to Lenoir to be there. Parts of that day will always be a blur but seeing you walk through the door touched my heart more than you could ever know. You were an amazing human being. The world will be a little less bright without you in it.”
“My dreams came true in 2014 when I got to meet Ace, TJ, Riggins and Lindsay in Birmingham at 2nd chance prom! I started listening to y’all in 2003 and have been a loyal listener ever since! Ace talked to me a good bit that night and I was so appreciative! He was such a genuine guy! And anytime I would message him personally or through the show, he was always so kind in his responses. He definitely made an impact on my life as you all have. I had just reached out to him a few weeks ago to check on him and to say that y’all are doing a great job but he could never be replaced and that I hoped he’d be back soon and that he’s loved and cared for by SO many!! I hate this happened and he is now gone. I know Cade is absolutely devastated and I hope he will be okay. I know with Payton dying that was the hardest thing for Ace but gosh, I just don’t even have anymore words other than I’m so sorry this happened. I love y’all and will continue to keep his family and all of you close to my heart. This is tough.” – Kea Leigh
“I will always remember how kind Ace was everytime I met him. I have so many memories and stories that still make me laugh after over 25 years of listening, but my favorite story will always be the turkey frying incident. Ace definitely left his mark in the hearts of all the radio family and is loved by so many. I’m praying for his family and friends and sending love to you all!”

“Always remember him smiling.. at his charity case concerts, the Christmas parades in Birkdale, but even more for your Charity events… he will be missed.” – Jenna
“Ace was always very nice each time I met him. He always had something funny to say & never made you feel bad about approaching him. I’m very saddened to hear of his passing. Fly high, Ace!”
“I am so stunned about the loss of Ace! I’ve listened to him since he & TJ started in Columbia, SC. My son has special needs & EVERY night before bed he would listen to the Ace & Friends podcasts! My son is autistic & non verbal so for him to intentionally choose Ace’s podcast each night was something special….I hope Ace is reunited with Payton & finally at peace…..Thinking of & praying for you all at this time! Xoxo” – Jill & Jarrett Williams
“Since 1998 Ace & TJ was a part of my life along with many others. You became family through the radio. 2002 Leanna became a Grin Kid, which took the love up another notch. The memories from the trip, the love and laughter, from spending those 5 days together are and will forever be cherished. Ace, you will forever be in our hearts.”
“Oh gosh, where do I start…. I’m one of the original 11 listeners. I was a sophomore in high school when the Ace & TJ show came to the Charlotte area and I was hooked! I knew I had to meet y’all one day and I dreamed of being on the show! All of which came true! I’ve met Ace several times as well as Alexis, Riggens, Rob, TJ, Jodi, Lil friend Jenny, Handsome husband Michael, Laney, and Amanda. I’ve also been blessed to be in the studio before Ace left. His kindness and empathy for others for always very apparent. He was always honest and raw with his emotions. He was relatable to so many of us!! He touched my life in more ways than I can count. So thankful for all the laughs, tears and joy he brought to my life and so many lives over the years. He will be missed. More than I can express in a simple message. Thanks Ace for all of it! You are legend!! You will never be forgotten. I hope you are at peace and holding Peyton close. Thanks again, Ace. Lots of love” – Tammy (Sweet T) Johnson
“That twerking video Ace made (in boxers with hearts on them) was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen!! I still laugh often thinking of that video. Maybe it’s still out there on the net somewhere. He was such a character and an authentic person. I feel lucky to have found this show while living in Greenville, NC in the early 2000’s, and to listen to y’all while growing into adulthood. Ace, TJ and Riggins kept the humor and laughs in my life while the serious adult things crept in, and for that I’ll be forever grateful.”
“Oh where do I start…there are so many memories from the past 19 years of being so blessed to be a close friend and part of David’s family. From the many days on the softball fields, to the many nights of “rocking out” as he played on stage in his Charity Case band, to just recently having meaningful conversations and laughs, even 2 weeks ago sitting around our house watching football together. But the specific memory I want to share is one from July, when David asked my husband Adam & I to please be his guests, as he was given the honor of being the Emcee of the NC State Highway Patrol Gala in Charlotte. Little did David know that it was everyone else’s honor, to witness him do an amazing job being the “master of ceremonies” and watch as he raised thousands of dollars to support the NCSHP that night. Yes it was because of his infectious, joyful, influential, genuine personality, that he was the one responsible for the overwhelming success of the live auction he hosted for the NCSHP benefit. I remember seeing him so nervous, looking over his index cards at the table, trying to practice what he would say before having to get up on stage. When I saw this, I looked over at him and said “Hey you’ve got this! You will do great! Just be you!” I will never forget the look of appreciation and that sweet smile and wink he gave me as he said “Thank you! I needed that!” David always was a man who genuinely appreciated when people complimented him and he would make sure you knew. As he stood up there and captivated a room full of NC VIP’s and also had them cracking up with laughter, I was in awe of how he commanded the room everytime he spoke, no matter where it was…whether in person or everyday on the radio! His talent was reaching people’s souls and their hearts. I have listened to him for so many years but that night seeing him up there make magic happen, seemed so effortless for him b/c it was who he was! No one else could have convinced a room full of people to donate that amount of money for a wonderful cause besides David “Ace” Cannon! He reaches your hearts in such a raw, real, meaningful way and can make you laugh the next minute! I know everyone at that Gala will forever feel the impact of how David changed lives that night and every other day that he changed lives from Grin Kids to an everyday listener. He had the biggest heart to help others and put himself last, and I wish he knew how many lives he has touched and how many people’s lives he has changed for the better! His life’s work was incredible and God is so proud of the work David did for others and the light he left in this world. Adam & I are so grateful to have been by his side to share that special event with him and to share a lifetime of friendship. Thank you David for all the memories and for being a true best friend to my husband through all the years of ups and downs. 19 years ago we started a family friendship with you, Shonnette, Payton & Cade and we will forever be honored and blessed for all the memories we have had over these 19 years. We wish there were going to be many more but my girls and Adam & I will forever share your story and legacy because you made such an impactful difference in this world and no one will ever forget that! You were an amazing man, father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and beyond amazing friend to us 5! We love you David and always will! Your smile and voice and hugs feel like they are still in our home and I hope it stays that way! What a legacy you have left my friend! Love, Tammi, Adam, Morgan, Malina & Mia Harris”
“I have been a long time listener. Here is a picture from I believe 2015 Grin Kids Golf tournament at Northstone! We have lost a legend! My thoughts and prayers for everyone grieving the loss of Ace!”
“It wasn’t long after I moved here in 2000 that I found you guys on the radio. You immediately made me feel at home in this big new city. His transparency on the radio and love for his community were 2nd to none! For 20 years you were on my radio and I’m going to miss you like crazy! You were a F***** legend Ace!! RIP my brother!!” – Michael
“Two things stand out…Ace’s ability to make you feel like you were a part of what was going on, no matter where you were. The bike ride is a perfect example (along with breaking and entering Christmas). I felt like I was right there cheering him on instead of being 1000 miles away. Ace at Large…a couple of times I sent a message during the show and his responses. It made you feel included that he read and really got what you sent him. I am deeply saddened by his passing and continue to pray for all of you and his family. A bright light is missing from all of our lives, maybe it’s one of those bright stars shining down on us. May you rest easy, Ace (and I hope there are no staplers where you are ❤️)”
“He really helped me through my child custody stuff and taught me how to cope with heartache. I really looked up to him. We spoke often!” – Dylan
“So many times I have laughed because of Ace. A few times I have cried, (insert his kindergarten poem here). He was truly a beautiful soul.”
“The time I won tickets to Breakfast with Santa (2018) and we were able to meet Ace, TJ and Guenn! My daughter was in 1st grade at the time and she has grown up with Ace & TJ. We are heartbroken with his loss.”
“Giving Ace and TJ a behind the scenes tour of Bank of America Stadium”
“Our son, Brent, was a 2009 grinkid. Ace and TJ showed so much love for all of the children. We are eternally grateful. Prayers for all of Ace’s family and friends. ❤️🙏🏻”
“I was so lucky to be invited to attend one of Ace & TJ’s live shows. That was one of my favorite days. They were both a huge part of my life for many years. Ace will be greatly missed.” – Brent
“Still hard to believe have been listening to Ace&TJ for years! Prayers for his family”
“I started listening to the show 18 years ago and have listened every weekday since. I’ve heard all about his family and life and laughed and cried at his stories and sadnesses. Last year my sons and I were in Charlotte for a few days and messaged the show to see if they were doing any appearances in the area while we were there. We were thrilled to receive an invitation to come by the studio and meet the entire cast. We got to spend a few hours with them and watch them record the show, talk to each of them and take pictures together. It was the highlight of our trip and my sons said “it was amazing.” They were all just as great in person as they are on the show and 1000% genuine and friendly. Ace told us some very funny stories and talked to my oldest son about wrestling, which he loved. It remains as one of the best days of our lives. For years Ace has entertained us and given so many people hope when they had none, shared his life with us and others, and has done so much to help everyone else. We have loved him as a friend and somewhat felt like we know him. He made the world a better place just by being who he was. His strength, energy and kindness have been such a gift to the radio family. To say he will be missed is a major understatement. He was one in a million.” – Kelly
“I’ve listened to Ace and Tj for years. The joy they bring to so many is probably unknown to them. Ace even through all his struggles keep bringing his light even though behind the curtain was dark. We miss you Ace, I pray that you know the Joy and laughter that you brought to this world.”

“He was a gentle giant with so much love. His actions spoke deeper than his voice.” – Love the Murphy’s..2013 Grin Kid Family
“I dont have any one specific memory, just that I have listened to Ace and TJ for years in the morning on my way to work or to take my kids to school and I have never been so upset about someone that I never got to meet ❤️. Ace was the reason for so many laughs during morning commute and I am absolutely heartbroken for his friends and family. Ace, your memory will live on within every single soul that you touched on the radio❤️. I hope that you and Payton had a beautiful reunion, you will be missed!”
“Will forever remember all u done with charity case..came to see u a couple times in Hickory when ur band was playing ..Fly High Ace 💔 sending prayers to all his family and friends”
“This is hard to believe me and my best friend had been to many of the Ace and TJ events and so enjoyed the show. He was so funny and a great person. Rest in Peace”
“My heart is broken for y’all. For 5 years, I had a 40 minute drive to work from Lancaster to Rock Hill. I listened to The Ace and TJ show every morning and I enjoyed y’all so much! I’ve been a part of your radio Family for years. One memory I have of Ace was during one of your Christmas Breaking and Entering segments where Ace got so emotional that he almost had me in tears and his goodness touched me deeply! Oh, what a sweet and caring heart! Rest in peace, dear Ace. May your sweet light shine brightly in Heaven. Peace and love to you all..” – Cami
“I remembering listening to Ace & TJ for many years while taking my kids to school. Went to the 2nd second chance prom with my late husband and had a great time. Just so hard to believe.” – Lisa
“EVERY morning I listened to them… This picture I posted is from 2011. We were at the beach on the Crystal Coast, LITERALLY 30-40 minutes away from anything. I pulled them up and their app, and happened to hear they were “at the crystal coast.” They were staying at the ONLY hotel in that city that was directly across the road from the house that we were renting. We walked over to the little bar at the hotel, and spent hours with them! It was SO fun!”
“I had the privilege of meeting Ace & TJ at an event in Birmingham, AL back in 2010. I listened to the show religiously on my way to work for years and years. My heart breaks for Ace’s family and friends. He brought so much joy and happiness into the lives of so many and I hope he knew how much he was loved.”
“I like so many others grew up, listening to Ace & TJ in the Charlotte, NC area. I say grew up as in I was teen and I am now 48 years old. Over 20 years of my life, I have listened to Ace and TJ so it’s impossible for Ace not to have some sort of mark on my life. For my 40th birthday, we went to the Second Chance prom in Charlotte and had the time of my life and is a forever a weekend I will never forget. I was beyond an ecstatic to have got to meet Ace and take a picture and he was more friendly than I ever expected and so enthusiastic to take a picture with little old me. I was beyond an ecstatic to have got to meet Ace and take a picture and he was more friendly than I ever expected and so enthusiastic to take a picture with me!! My heart truly aches, as if I have lost a friend that I only met in person once. Deepest condolences and prayers to those truly close to Ace, especially for his two boys.”
“Its been many years of listening to the Ace & TJ show. They have been my go to station every morning I get a chance to listen. Will never forget you and your family. Rest in peace Ace.” – Valerie
“I have always been a fan of Ace & TJ. Always part of my daily routine. I also got to participate in a ballgame for their charity The Grin Kids. Always the nicest, and funniest. Greatly going to be missed 😪. FLY HIGH ACE 😢 RIP”
“I have listened since I was in grade school. Ace & tj would come into the Palm where I worked for many years. Always so nice. I have cried and laughed with them listening throughout the years! Truly a loss for the community and his family. Prayers for his children and loved ones. ❤️❤️❤️” – Kasey
“I met ACE twice at live events over the last couple of years. He was always very friendly and took the time to thank me for coming to the show. He had gone through more in the last few years than most people have to go through in a lifetime. He was an extremely rare talent and a great person. He will be forever missed.” – Travis
“Ace was such a compassionate, kind soul. I had been a member of the radio family since I was about 19. I later found my way back and Ace really inspired me. I always wanted to see him succeed and I appreciated how human he was with everyone. He will truly be missed by so many.” – Monica
“The Ace & TJ show has been apart of my life for so long. The laughs, advice, his band, sarcasm will forever be apart of me. I still remember Ace saying that a sport wasn’t a sport unless there was a ball involved. I completely agreed and use this to this day. I felt like part of the family and that made a huge difference in my life. Ace will be missed dearly by so many and especially me 😪” – Kathy
“I have listened to Ace and TJ for years and years. They felt like family after a while. I related a lot with Ace. His passionate spirit, quick temper, larger than life laugh, and his immense love for his kids were things I felt we shared. When Peyton went to school and he read that poem each year and cried, I did too. When he would get choked up talking about the families on the Disney trip, I did too, or when he would do the Breaking and Entering and would have to stop talking because he was emotional, I was too. He worked so hard on bettering himself and was already such an amazing person. I am saddened and completely heartbroken at his passing. Thank you for your light and love Ace!” “It’s because of Him and TJ we were able to experience the Magic of Disney!” – Stephanie
“I started listening to Ace & TJ as soon as they came to Charlotte the first time. In college my professor convinced me to call into the show and tell them about my 2 Labs I had just gotten named after Ace and TJ cause I loved them so much. Praying for Ace’s family.” – Heather
“The Ace & TJ show was the soundtrack of my life beginning in 1998 when they first came on the air in Charlotte. I laughed and cried along with them so much. I learned about 09/11 on their show while at work and remember them being on air around the clock that day. I’ll admit I was a bit of a fan girl back in those days and was so excited to meet them in person for the first time. I would go to their appearances at concerts, malls, stores etc and he always remembered my name. He had a smile for everyone and genuinely cared about people and wanted to make a difference. You are already so missed.” – Rachel
“Him explaining “cookin cheese” will forever live rent free in my mind. Thank you for the years of morning laughs and real talk about life.”
“As a longtime listener, I always felt like I knew the guys. Then TJ had the idea to do a bit on “The Ace & TJ Baby” and follow my pregnancy and I got to actually get to know them all. They are as kind and welcoming in real life as you’d hope they’d be. I was always impressed with Ace’s tender heart, even off-mic and even after my participation in that bit was long forgotten. I told him only a few months ago that I was proud to know him because his heart for people always came through. He impacted a lot of people and brought much light to our lives, even as he was facing his own dark and hard times. You’ll be missed, Ace. Thanks for all the laughs and hope you brought.” – Kristin
“I was so excited when I won the chance to meet them! Ace was so funny and kind. I have listened to them since I was a kid! He will be soooooo very missed by many! He helped so many people in the Charlotte area, I hope he knew how many lives he touched.” – Courtney
“It was an honor to be apart of Pedaling for Payton!” – Alex
“Being a original 11 listener. He has brought me tears of joy and sorrow. I became friends with him while he played with Charity Case. We tried to go to every show. I loved hearing his voice. The photo is with my son that I had taken last year and then 11 years prior with the band. He was always warm to my son who loved him as much as we all did. My heart broke when his daughter did as my son and Payton are the same age. I was then blessed with being able to make his cake when they released Maggie Mae. It was my honor to do it. When he broke down on air you all could hear it. He laughed but loved that my husband got and has the only Charity Case tattoo. Fly high and sing on.”
“Ace was so kind and down to earth when I met him years ago in the pits at a NASCAR race. I’ve cherished this moment and always will!!”
“Ace came over to us at a KISS concert in 2019 when he noticed my husband wearing a Charity Case tshirt. We chatted, laughed and reminisced over Charity Case shows we’d attended as if we were long lost friends. That was the best thing about Ace, his ability to connect with people and immediately feel like friends. I’m sad for his friends and family and that he endured so much pain in the final years of his life. I pray he’s now pain free enjoying eternal life with the God he loved and the daughter he missed here on earth.”
“I live in Lexington, SC. I have listened on Augusta 104.3, Columbia 104.7 and then as podcasts whenever I wanted. There are so many memories from my daily rides to and from work. I loved Ace and Friends, Aces energy and enthusiasm made that show so much fun. His laughter, his honesty about everything including his lack of food knowledge. He let us all in his life and share the highs and lows. He seemed to want nothing more than to see and make everyone happy. His help with charities, Grin Kids, breaking and entering Christmas were amazing. To hear him cry over the LSU entrances and fight songs. His heart was so big, just too big for Earth. I pray for his family and all of his radio family.”
“I met Ace at a local racetrack, it was not long after he lost his daughter, I told him how sorry I was and that I wished I could take his pain away, he gave me the most genuine hug, Rest Easy Ace , we will never forget you and always keep your positive memories alive” – Anita
“I grew up in China Grove in the 90s. I have the fondest memories of listening to the show on my way to school. Ace became a familiar and comforting voice throughout my childhood. When I moved away in 2010, I was so excited to find my comfort show on the local radio station in Jacksonville. I have spent the majority of my 32 years in the radio family. It is heartbreaking to know I won’t ever hear his voice through my speakers. I am sending my love and prayers to all who were loved and adored by Ace.” – Erin
“Devastating news about Ace. His stories of frying the turkey and catching the house on fire, TJ saying he sang like Cher. Over 25 yrs of memories with y’all. He will be greatly missed. Praying for all of you!” – Lisa
“Ace – you haven’t had it easy lately but the memory I have is that you brought your listeners much joy. This picture is at least 14 years old. Yall remember ace in the silver or gold Speedo’s because he lost a bet or game on the show?” – Nina
“I remember meeting Ace and TJ at Blockbuster (thats old) and getting their first cd signed. 12pack of shut the hell up! I listened to them on the way to high school, college, and work with a long drive! This is sooo sad to hear! Prayers for all the family,l and radio family😞🙏🏼😢” – Kat
